【摘要】:1Thispart1ofEN12971establishesamethodofdesignationforchoppedstrandsmadefromcontinuousfilamenttextileglassstrands,whichmaybeusedasthebasisforspecifications.2Thisdesignationsystemisforchoppedstrandsusedforthereinforcementofplasticsandthemanufactureofsyntheticbondednon-wovenmaterials.Itdoesnotapplytochoppedstrandsmadefromstaplefibres.3Itisnotintendedtoimplythatchoppedstrandshavingthesamedesignationgivenecessarilythesameperformance.Noristhedesignationsystemintendedtocoverallthecharacteristicsofchoppedstrands.Thispart1ofEN12971doesnotgiveengineeringdata,performancedataordatawhichmayberequiredtospecifychoppedstrandsforaparticularapplicationormethodofprocessing.IfsuchadditionalpropertiesarerequiredtheyshouldbedeterminedinaccordancewiththetestmethodsspecifiedinEN12971-2.
