【摘要】:Moisture,asdeterminedbythisinstrumentaltestmethod,isusedforcalculatingotheranalyticalresultstoadrybasisusingproceduresinPracticeD3180.Moisturecanbeusedinconjunctionwiththeair-drymoisturelossdeterminedbyTestMethodD3302todeterminetotalmoistureincoal.Totalmoistureisusedforcalculatingotheranalyticalresultstoanas-receivedbasisusingPracticeD3180.Ashyieldistheresidueremainingafterheatingthecoalandcokesamples(seeNote1).Note18212;Theashobtaineddiffersincompositionandamountfromthemineralconstituentspresentintheoriginalcoal.Combustioncausesanexpulsionofallwater,thelossofcarbondioxidefromcarbonates,theconversionofironpyriteintoironoxidesandsulfuroxides,andotherchemicalreactions.Ashyield,asdeterminedbythistestmethod,candifferfromtheamountofashproducedinfurnaceoperationsorothercombustionsystemsbecausecombustionconditionsinfluencethechemistryandamountofash.Ashyieldisused,(1)asaparameterforevaluatingsamplingproceduresandcoalcleaningprocesses,(2)intheultimateanalysiscalculationofoxygenbydifferenceusingPracticeD3176,(3)incalculationsincludingmaterialbalance,reactivityandyieldsofproductsrelevanttocoalconversionprocessessuchasgasificationandliquefaction,(4)incalculationstoestimatetheloadingonelectrostaticprecipitatorsandontheflyashandbottomashdisposalsystemsaswellaserosionratesonboilersystems.Volatilematteryield,whendeterminedashereindescribed,maybeusedto(1)indicatecokeyieldoncarbonization,(2)providethebasisforpurchasingandselling,or(3)establishcombustioncharacteristics.Fixedcarbonisacalculatedvalue.Itisthedifferencebetween100andthesumofthepercentmoisture,ash,andvolatilematter.Allpercentsshallbeonthesamemoisturereferencebase.Moisture,ash,andvolatilematterarethreeoftheprincipalparametersusedforassessingthequalityofcoal.1.1Theseinstrumentaltestmethodscoverthedeterminationofmoisture,volatilematter,andash,andthecalculationoffixedcarbonintheanalysisofcoalandcokesamplespreparedinaccordancewithPracticeD2013andPracticeD346.1.2Theseinstrumentaltestmethodsarenotapplicabletothermogravimetricanalyzersusingmicrogramsizesamples.1.3TestMethodsD3173,D3174,andD3175shallbeconsideredtherefereetestmethods.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5
